TV 'apps'

The apps are a vision for the future of media -- where a viewer subscribes directly to the stars and brands they're most interested in.

I'm struggling to see this completely being the norm - imagine if you wanted to track several, or several dozen stars or brands! - but it does show an interesting trend developing where more and more websites and services are pushing/promoting the subscription model.  Netflix and their positioning is looking more and more interesting as all services go onto just a data pipe also - they're ahead of the curve with just offering their tv service over the internet.
