What is 'Digital'

In many ways, I completely dislike the term ‘digital’: it seems a redundant term. However, no matter how many times we try to get away from it, descriptions seem to settle back on it.
In the technology sector, in many ways they’ve moved from it, except for that dreadful term ‘digital transformation’. It’s 2021 and if you’re not already using ‘digital’ in some form, it’s already too late. What may be the case is you’re not using it enough, however, that’s a separate topic…
When it comes to describing the distinction between online and offline, does the term ‘digital environment still hold relevance? that description above is pretty board and digging into the source article, it - rightly - highlights that they can’t forsee what it will cover in the future as new items are invented, i.e.
This transcends sharp distinctions between offline/online, analogue/digital, structure/agency and prompts us to consider the digital as “blended”, embodied, dynamic and co-constructed.
I’m looking forward to us moving past the old views and seeing the world as one: blended and merged in varoius forms. We’re only at the beginning in many ways
